Lens Crafty

I came across a box of old glass lenses. I'm not sure what they were in their first life (Do you know? If so, leave a comment!), but they had this great texture to them. T and I had been thinking of making some screens or light fixtures, and this looked like it might be a good source material. And who wants a box filled with dusty old disks of glass? Well, I mean, other than me.

I was headed to the studio to work on some glass pieces, and I got the idea to shape one of them in the kiln. When it came out, the lens was transformed into the cutest little dish, perfect for corralling earrings or loose change on your dresser. I'll be making more of these.

Technical difficulties

UPDATE: Sorry for the strange formatting today. Something has gone awry with our blog. I've got a temporary fix to get us back up and readable.

For now, I apologize for the overused green, leafy background. When I get some time, I'll track down the problem and work on a better fix.

For those of you who read us on one of those new-fangled smart phones all the kids are using, this might be better for you. I tweaked some settings.

I need a hug (stool)

I like the simplicity of Emo Design's Hug stool, and I love the brightly colored rope handle. More info @ Mocoloco.
